  Ephesus Ancient City was one of the twelve cities of Ionian League in Classical Greek Era. In antique world it was an important harbor city with its big agora – commercial bazaar area. It is mentioned in the book of Revelations as one of the seven churches. It was also sacred for Christians because of its connections with Virgin Mary, Saint Paul and Saint John The Evangelist.

  Temple of Artemis was the first marble temple of the Ancient world and thanks to its tremendous size it became one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Unfortunately there is only one column left from this beautiful building because it has been destroyed many times in history and lost its importance after Christians started to rule the area.

 Virgin Mary’s House is a Catholic and Muslim shrine located at the skirt of Bulbul Mountain in Selcuk. It is discovered by Lazarist priests after a Catholic nun in Germany described the place in her visions about a house Mother Mary lived before she died. Pope Pius XII came and visited the house in 1951, since than the House of Virgin Mary get the status of a Holy Place and has become an important pilgrimage spot for Catholics since then.

  Ephesus Tour Program
• We will meet you at the Izmir City Hotels or Izmir Airport upon your arrival and we drive to Selcuk city which takes approximately 1 hours one way.
• First of all we will visit Virgin Mary’s House.
• After Mother Mary’s House we start visiting Ephesus Ancient City with the most important places such as Celsus Library, Great Theater, Temple of Hadrian, the     fountain of Trajan, Hercules Gate, Domitian Temple and more.
• We will have lunch at a local Turkish restaurant.
• On our way back we will visit Artemis Temple.
• You will be transferred back to Izmir Hotels or Izmir Airport at the end of the tour.
